Vybz Kartel Walks Free: Dancehall Icon Celebrates Freedom with ‘Freedom Street’ Concert

Jamaican dancehall icon Vybz Kartel, born Adidja Palmer, was released in July 2024 after a conviction was overturned due to juror misconduct. Kartel returned to the stage with the “Freedom Street” concert at Kingston’s National Stadium on New Year’s Eve—his first live performance in over a decade—joined by Popcaan, Spice, Bounty Killer, Busta Rhymes and more.
